Philanthropist and founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates congratulated Wednesday President Muhammadu Buhari with his re-election.

During a telephone conversation, Bill Gates said he was happy that he was associated with the Nigerian president.

He also reiterated his commitment to the success of the administration as well as the progress, prosperity and well-being of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Bill Gates expressed the willingness to do more for the country.

President Muhammed Buhari also reiterated his conviction that Bill Gates’s wealth had benefited Nigeria’s development and expressed appreciation for the call.

Buhari praised Bill Gates for his consistent and generous support for public goals around the world, and specifically for supporting the eradication of polio and HIV diseases in Africa and Nigeria in particular.

A statement from President Muhammed Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu, quoted him as follows: “I am very happy that your projects have affected the lives of the average Nigerian.
